Trampoline jumper from the Krasnodar Territory wins silver for Russia in London

Today, Dmitry Ushakov, representing the Krasnodar Territory, has won the silver medal at 2012 Olympics in trampoline jumping.

Dmitry Ushakov received 61.769 points from referees. The gold went to a Chinese Dong Dong with 62.990 points, while the bronze medal was given to Beijing Olympic Champion Lu Chunlong (61.319), the RIA "Novosti" reports.

At the 2008 Olympics in Beijing, Russian trampoline jumpers failed to win medals, the "Sports.ru" reminds.

Dmitry Ushakov said that in London was not going to "step on the same rake," like in Beijing.

"I was going to win a medal; although I knew that it would be difficult to cope with the excitement, same as in Beijing... Then, I managed with everything, but in the finals the pressure came into play: I was at the Olympics, performed poorly and finally was the sixth. Now that I climbed on the trampoline, I thought that I shouldn't step twice on the same rake! And I'm glad that I've managed – right on the third out of 10 elements I realized that I was nicely feeling my body," the "Gazeta.ru" quotes Ushakov as saying.

Dmitry Ushakov was born in the city of Eisk, Krasnodar Territory, on August 15, 1988. He was a finalist of the Olympic Games in Beijing in 2008 and won the European Championship in the team competition; and he is the Russian champion and winner of the World Cup rounds, the "Vfm.ru" reports.
