Relatives of persons, killed in territory of State University in Ingushetia, doubt official version of accident

The Prosecutor's Office of Ingushetia has taken under special control the investigation into the criminal case on the fact of the attempt on lives of police officers, which was instituted after the armed clash in the territory of the Ingush State University. Relatives of the suspected militants, killed during the incident, question the official version of their death.

At night of July 29, during the armed clash in the village of Ordzhonikidzevskaya, the secret services agents in Ingushetia killed three suspected militants, and one of them managed to escape. No power agent was killed. According to the National Antiterrorist Committee (NAC), the armed clash occurred in the territory of the Ingush State University. The killed persons were identified as Magomed Khayauri, born in 1991, Arthur Karsamauli, born in 1986, and Islam Tochiev.

"The course of the criminal investigation is controlled by the Republic's Prosecutor. The results will be announced later," the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent was told at the Prosecutor's Office of Ingushetia.

Meanwhile, a source, who preferred to remain anonymous, told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent that the relatives of the killed persons have many questions concerning the events of July 29.

"As far as we know, two of the killed persons were students of the Moscow higher educational institutions, who came to spend their summer holidays at their homeland; that is, they were not put on the wanted list on suspicion of illegal activities," the source says.

"Witnesses tell us that they heard a short burst, and then controlling (shots) and not shooting or chase, like the police reports stated," the man continued.

"We are also told by witnesses that the shooting started at about 10:00 p.m., and it was heard throughout the village near the university. People say that the shooting was one-sided, followed by single shots. They say that could be controlling shots," a relative of one of the killed persons told the correspondent.

In his turn, the source in the Investigatory Committee of Ingushetia has explained that the killed persons first opened fire on power agents and the shooting might seem one-sided, since the weapons of the members of illegal armed formations (IAFs) were equipped with silencers.
