The government of Dagestan allocated from the reserve fund 345,000 roubles for the provision of one-time financial assistance to Erzi Akhmadova, the mother of Malik Akhmadov, who became Category I invalid, rescuing a drowning girl.

On July 13, 2010, Malik Akhmadov, the first-year student of the Novgorod Institute of Agriculture, came to spend his summer holidays in his native Dagestan and vacationed with his family on the shore of the Caspian Sea. While rescuing the girl, drowning in the sea, he fell into a whirlpool and remained under water for more than seven minutes. According to Erzi Akhmadova, the mother of the young man, the family members have to collect money from their relatives and friends to pay for expensive drugs and rehabilitation procedures. In February, she appealed through the media for help to pay for medical treatment and rehabilitation of her son.

Magomedsalam Magomedov, the leader of Dagestan, has made a number of decisions to help Malik Akhmadov. This was reported to the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent in the press service of the Republic's President.

"Malik has a tragic fate he was rescuing a human and at the same time he became disabled. We worry about Malik, and we hope for his recovery. Therefore, we have made a decision to pay for his entire medical treatment. Several courses have been already paid. And in the future, through the Ministry of Health of Dagestan, we will do everything to ensure that he will receive rehabilitation treatment at the expense of the republic's budget," said today Magomedsalam Magomedov.

According to the leader of the republic, he was reported that Malik Akhmadov had a problem with housing. In that regard, the republic's leadership has decided to allocate funds from the government reserve fund to pay for rented apartments in Novgorod for the next two years.
