Founder of "Civilitas" Foundation files complaint to Armenian Court of Appeal

Today, July 30, Vardan Oskanyan, the founder of the "Civilitas" Foundation, ex-Minister of Foreign Affairs of Armenia, filed to the Court of Appeal a complaint to challenge the decision of the court of general jurisdiction of the Yerevan communities of Kentron-Nork-Marash. This was reported in the press service of the Foundation.

Let us remind you that on May 25, the National Security Service (NSS) of Armenia instituted against the "Civilitas" Foundation, founded in 2008 by Vardan Oskanyan (current MP from the "Prosperous Armenia"), the criminal case on the grounds of the Paragraph 3 of Article 190 of the Criminal Code of Armenia "legalization ('money laundering') of the proceeds of crime." Vardan Oskanyan is a witness in the case. On July 12, Arthur Grigoryan, the lawyer of the "Civilitas" Foundation, filed a complaint to the court to challenge the decision of the National Security Service to institute criminal proceedings against the Foundation.

On July 23, the court of general jurisdiction dismissed the claim of the founder of the "Civilitas" Foundation to cancel the decision of the National Security Service to institute the criminal case against the Foundation.

"In its decision, the court did not respond to the arguments presented in our claim. We have every reason to appeal to the Court of Appeal," said Tigran Atanesyan, one of the lawyers of Vardan Oskanyan.
