Adygea welcomes delegation of young compatriots from Turkey
This morning, the delegation of young representatives of the Diaspora in Turkey arrived in the capital of Adygea from the Krasnodar Airport. The delegation consists of 21 teenagers, who are 12-17 years old, and two accompanying adults; for all of them, this is the first visit to Adygea. This was reported by the Republic's Committee on Youth Affairs.
Reception of the delegation is organized at the expense of the republic's budget within the republic's target programme "Development and strengthening of relations with compatriots abroad" for the years of 2012-2016. The main objective of the programme is to create an effective system of interaction of Adygea with compatriots abroad to develop and strengthen cultural, educational, economic and other relations.
"The children came from the city of Ankara and the surrounding communities, they were selected according to their parents' wishes," stated Makhmud Karataban, Chairman of the Committee. "The trip was initiated by the Confederation of Caucasian Nations 'Kafdar' in Turkey."
"My father is the former head of the Khase of the city of Sakarya; I learned about the trip from him and, of course, I agreed," said a 17-year-old Schebnem Achokh. She continues: "My dad's grandfather was born in Adygea. I want to get acquainted with the land of my ancestors, and this is so exciting for me."
According to Makhmud Karataban, if earlier, compatriots from Turkey arrived in Adygea in a chaotic way, by invitations of different people, that visit for the first time has been fully organized under the state programme. According to the Chairman of the Committee, within the republic's target programme, the budget allocated 470,000 roubles for the organization of the reception of the delegation. According to Makhmud Karataban, the main costs are accounted for accommodation, meals and transportation services.
