Dagestani native wins second Russia's gold medal at 2012 Olympics

Today, in the final judo match of the Olympic Games in the weight category of 73 kg, Mansur Isaev, a Russian judoist, a native of Dagestan, defeated Riki Nakaya from Japan and won the gold medal of the 2012 Olympics.

In 1/8-final, Mansur Isaev competed with Rustam Orudjov representing Azerbaijan. The Russian athlete actively led the fight, and, at the end of the third minute, he finished his great attack with a clear throw, winning an early victory.

In the quarter-final, Mansur Isaev defeated Nyam Ochir Saindjargal, a representative of Mongolia, and at the fight for the final, he defeated Wan Ki Chung, an athlete from South Korea.

In the final, the Russian met the Japanese Riki Nakaya, the 2011 World Champion, who had defeated Dex Elmont, the Dutch judoist, in the semi-final. The fight turned out just as hard as the semi-final; however, at the middle of the fight, Mansur Isaev managed to perform an effective attack, which brought him victory with a minimum margin, the "RBC" reports.

Mansur Isaev was born in the city of Kizilyurt (Dagestan) on September 23, 1986. When he was eight years old, his father brought him to the sporting section on judo; his first coach was D. S. Magomedov. In 2005, Mansur Isaev moved to Chelyabinsk to Alexander Miller, the Honoured Coach of Russia, and then he won his first medal of the major tournament – the bronze medal for the Youth Championship of Russia, the "Sovietskiy Sport" (Soviet Sport) reports.

At present, the 25-year-old athlete represents the city of Chelyabinsk, the "Izvestia" writes.
