Mirzaev slapped Agafonov in the face, the defendant’s girl-friend declared at the trial

The case of Champion in Mixed Martial Arts Rasul Mirzaev after whose blow a nineteen-years-old Muscovite Ivan Agafonov perished is under consideration in Zamoskvotetsky court of Moscow today. The defendant’s girl-friend Alla Kosogorova who was present at the scene of the conflict in “Garage” club was interrogated in court. Physicians of the hospital where Agafonov was taken also evidenced in court.

The conflict between Mirzaev and Agafonov took place on August, 13,2011, in “Garage” night club in the center of Moscow. During the quarrel Mirzaev delivered Agafonov a blow after which the student was taken to hospital where he died on August, 18, 2011. Rasul Mirzaev has been kept in custody since August of 2011.

According to Alla Kosogorova, Ivan Agafonov spoke on the phone about “taking a hoe” in “Garage” club. She thought he meant her which was an insult.

“Ivan said to his friend that he was “taking a hoe”. Rasul’s friend heard that, then Rasul himself approached and Ivan said to him: “I will take you, too, if necessary”. This insulted Rasul and he slapped Agafonov in his face with his hand. It was just a slap”, the athlete’s girl-friend said in court.

Physicians of admitting office, traumatology and neurosurgery units of Pervaya Gradskaya hospital were also interrogated in court today. They said that Ivan Agafonov was taken to the hospital with a closed craniocerebral trauma, brain contusion, basal skull fracture and bruises of soft-tissue of his face. These injuries were estimated by the medics as traumas of moderate gravity and the patient’s hospitalization was mandatory.

During Alla Kosogorova’s interrogation the lost young man’s father Alexander Agafonov walked out of the courtroom and did not come back until the witness left.
