In Makhachkala, suicide bomber Saidat Yusupova blows herself up
In the course of a special operation undertaken in the evening on July 26 in the village of Alburikent near Makhachkala, one of the women – Saidat Yusupova – blew herself up, the National Antiterrorist Committee (NAC) reports.
Supposed militants were blocked in a private house. A skirmish burst out; and the counterterrorist operation (CTO) regime was introduced. Today, during an armed clash, according to the NAC, seven militants were killed.
Saidat Yusupova, who was in the blocked house, said that she was ready to surrender and tried to approach the law enforcers.
"At that moment, an improvised explosive device (IED), attached to her body, went up, causing injuries incompatible with life," the NAC reports.
As a result of negotiations with the blocked militants, at 7:15 a.m. power agents managed to bring two girls, aged three and eleven, out of the house; and later – two more children.
"The women – former wives of earlier neutralized bandits – Zagra Kadimagomedova, earlier detained in the course of a CTO in Dagestanskie Ogni, and Dinara Budtaeva, earlier convicted for arms circulation – were offered to come out of the house. Negotiations were on throughout the night, but despite involvement of these women's relatives, they refused to go out. After the children were evacuated, the bandits opened intensive fire at power agents," the NAC has reported.
