Disappeared Dagestani resident found in Kaspiisk IVS

Nutsi Aliev, a 32-year-old resident of Kaspiisk, who was considered disappeared since July 24, was found at the IVS (temporary detention facility) of Kaspiisk; however, no one is allowed to visit him. This was reported today by Maryana, the wife of Nutsi Aliev.

Maryana Alieva stated that her husband worked in Makhachkala at the "Orion" Company, and till the evening of July 24, he was there; then, he called home and said that he would go to his uncle to break the fasting. At about 10:00 p.m., Nutsi Aliev left the house of his relatives; however, when his wife began to phone him, there was no answer.

"Yesterday, we were looking for my husband for the entire day, and by the evening, it became known that he was kept at the IVS of Kaspiisk; however, neither me, nor lawyer Abdulla Gaziev, whom we hired, was allowed to visit him. No one explains us, why my husband was detained and what charges are filed against him. There is information that my husband is being beaten and tortured," Maryana Alieva told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.

The "Caucasian Knot" correspondent has failed to obtain a comment at the IVS of Kaspiisk.

Aisha Selimkhanova, Chair of the "Pravozaschita" (Advocacy) has confirmed that the wife of Nutsi Aliev appealed to human rights defenders and said that "she had a minor child, she was pregnant, her husband was not registered at the police station, he had no enemies, and Nutsi Aliev himself was a strictly practicing Muslim."
