Krymsk residents have to go to court to prove the fact of their residence in disaster zone

By July 18, 700 local residents-flood victims managed to prove the fact of their residence in the flood area in Krymsk without registration. However, local courts also fix a wave of applications, which seem "doubtful" to them, local authorities report.

About 30 percent of those who lived in the Krymsk District had not been registered in their houses, the RAPSI reports with reference to local officials.

"According to the law, all those who were not registered (in Krymsk) should go to court to prove the fact of their residence. Within just two days, the district courts have processed cases and made decisions on about 700 such victims. Now, they'll have all the rights under the law to get their compensations," the representative of the Krymsk District Court said on July 18.

"All the courts of the Krymsk District, including magistrate ones, are now working with the flood victims. All the judges, even those who were at vacations, are involved. The courts in the full sense are overloaded with cases," the "Interfax-Yug" quotes a representative of the district court.

In total, as of July 18, the fact of residence in the area of emergency was officially confirmed in relation of 25,700 victims. The vast majority of them had been registered, but some of them had to prove the fact of their residence in the courts, the "Yuga.ru" reports.

Local authorities doubt in many applications

Residents of different regions of Russia "have started appealing in mass order to the courts of Krymsk claiming to recognize them as residents of the flood zone. The lawyers of the administration have drafted the simplest way of appealing and help all those who need it to prepare documents. However, in the total amount of incoming cases we see more and more openly doubtful applications," the RIA "Novosti" quotes an unnamed representative of local authorities.

According to his story, some people try to prove that they lived at several addresses at the same time.

"There are facts, when documents are submitted on behalf of a convict, who is currently serving his term away. Or houses of single pensioners suddenly become inhabited by five or six families of their relatives from all over the country," said the source of the agency.
