Member of coalition "The Georgian Dream" Merab Kachakhidze detained in Tbilisi

Merab Kachakhidze, member of the National Committee of Conservative party and "The Georgian Dream" coalition was detained by the police in Tbilisi, representative of Press service of the coalition Greta Tsitsava reported.

Merab Kachakhidze was detained by patrol police in Samtredia street, Greta Tsitsava who was with the politician at the moment said.

"Several minutes later law enforcement officers approached and asked us to come out of the car. The policemen searched the car, confiscated documents from the cabin, put them into a cellophane bag and then told us that the documents were sealed. They also sealed the car", "Interpress News" quotes the representative of Press Service of "The Georgian Dream".

According to Tsitsava, the policemen searched her and her operator's belongings and took Merab Kachakhidze to the police department, "Echo of the Caucasus" reports.

There have been no comments from law enforcement bodies of Georgia yet concerning the reason of the politician's detention.
