Islam Magomedov and Arsen Magomedov killed in special operation in Dagestan

Two out of the seven militants liquidated who were killed in special operation in Dagestan have been identified as the leaders of local bandit groupings Islam and Arsen Magomedov, said the Information Centre of the National Antiterrorist Committee (NAC).

The fight between a group of suspected militants and power agents has burst out today in a wooded area near the village of Utamysh, Kayakent District.

According to the NAC, in total, seven by militants were killed, one soldier of Internal Troops of the Russian MIA was killed and two more wounded; a policeman was also wounded. There were no victims among the civilian population, the "Interfax" reports.

Two out of the seven liquidated militants have been preliminarily identified. "They are Islam Magomedov, born in 1984, also known as 'Abdulkhalik' and 'Khomyak' (Hamster), the leader of the so-called 'Sergokalin' gang, on the federal wanted list since 2010; and Arsen Magomedov, nickname 'Abdullah', born in 1983, the leader of the so-called 'Izberbash', on the federal wanted list since 2010," the RIA "Novosti" quotes the NAC statement.

So far, nothing is known about the position of relatives of Islam and Arsen Magomedov or their representatives with respect to the NAC's statements about their involvement in the armed underground.
