Mayor of Mikhailovsk detained for suspicion of bribery

Alexander Lunin, Mayor of the town of Mikhailovsk, Stavropol region, suspended from office is suspected of taking a bribe of 2,5 million rubles. Yesterday, July, 12, Lunin was detained.

Earlier, the "Caucasian Knot" reported that Alexander Lunin was suspended from office in March after criminal proceedings on abuse of authority were started against him. Before that a criminal case on illegal signing an act of accepting allegedly carried out works on reconstruction of water supply was started against him.

One more criminal case against suspended from office Mayor of Mikhailovsk Alexander Lunin who had already been under investigation on two other criminal cases was initiated on the fact of receiving a bribe of 2,5 million rubles.

"According to the investigation's version, in 2010 Head of the above mentioned municipality received a bribe of 2,5 million rubles from a businessman for leasing a land parcel for construction of a drugstore", web-site of Committee of Inquiry of the Russian Federation (CIR) in Stavropol region reports.

Earlier, July, 19, a criminal case for suspicion of abuse of authority was initiated against Alexander Lunin. According to the investigation's version, in 2010 and 2011 Lunin leased 17 land parcels from property of the settlements as well as the lands of unlocated state property to his acquaintances without tendering.

On July, 12, Alexander Lunin was detained, Ekaterina Danilova, Assistant Head of regional department of CIR, reported.

One of these days a motion of taking him into custody will be referred to court, STRC "Stavropolye" reports.
