Prosecutor's Office investigates reasons for inflammation of car, belonging to Makhachkala resident, considered kidnapped

The Prosecutor's Office of Dagestan made public the preliminary results of the investigation into the causes of inflammation of the car, belonging to Magomedkhan Magomedkhanov, a resident of Makhachkala, who was considered kidnapped. Relatives of Magomedkhan Magomedkhanov refute the version of self-explosion.

The "Caucasian Knot" has already reported that the relatives of Magomedkhan Magomedkhanov filed complaints about his kidnapping to the police and to the Human Rights Centre (HRC) "Memorial". On May 20, a burnt VAZ-21073 Priora car was found in the 30th kilometre of the highway Buinaksk-Arakani. According to the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA), the man perished as a result of careless handling of improvised explosive device (IED). The fact that the deceased man was identified as disappeared Magomedkhan (Magomadkhan) Magomedkhanov was reported by a reader of the "Caucasian Knot", who used the SMS-service of the edition.

A representative of the press service of the Prosecutor's Office told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent that "the conducted forensic examination of the remains of the Magomedkhan Magomedkhanov's body failed to reveal the cause of his death."

He has added on that fact, on May 31, the Buinaksk Inter-District Investigatory Division of the Investigatory Department of the Investigatory Committee of the Russian Federation (ICRF) in the Republic of Dagestan instituted a criminal case on elements of crime under Part 1 of Article 105 (murder) of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation.

"The necessary examinations were assigned to be conducted on the case. Investigatory unit carries out measures to solve the crime," the press officer has added.

Let us remind you that immediately after the version on self-explosion was announced by the MIA, the relatives of Magomedkhan Magomedkhanov refuted it and stated they believed that the man was placed in the car, when he was dead.

The relatives of Magomedkhan Magomedkhanov, who identified his body in the burnt car, told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent that the body was on the backseat.

"Then, the car itself, which we had seen, did not resemble an exploded car there were no signs of the explosion. The car just burned down. Therefore, we are astonished by the results of the examination, disseminated by the media immediately after the discovery of the car, that Magomedkhanov exploded, when he was transporting an explosive device," said one of the relatives of Magomedkhan Magomedkhanov.

According to him, judging by the position of the body in the car, "Magomedkhan was already dead, when unidentified persons set the car on fire." "Of course, it was difficult to detect signs of torture, since soft tissues are almost completely burned down; however, the killed man got both of his legs and his arm broken. These are the conclusions of his relatives," he has emphasized.

Earlier, lawyer Nurmagomed Magomedov, a half-cousin of the disappeared man, stated that, according to unconfirmed information, Magomedkhan Magomedkhanov was kidnapped at about noon by people in camouflage and masks in the vicinities of Ametkhan Sultan Avenue in Makhachkala. Madina Badrudinova, the wife of Magomedkhan Magomedkhanov, said that on the day, when her husband disappeared, a special operation was conducted near the place of their residence.
