Rosselkhznadzor: there are employees of a kindergarten among those taken ill with anthrax in Dagestan

Part of the flesh of a sick animal as a result of contact with which six residents of Akhvakh district were taken ill with anthrax was realized to a kindergarten, employees of Rosselkhznadzor in Dagestan established.

It should be reminded that on June, 28, six residents of the settlement of Karat, Akhvakh district of Dagestan, asked for medical aid with symptoms of anthrax and were hospitalized. There was a pregnant woman among those who asked for medical aid, she was moved to the hospital of Makhachkala. Today experts confirmed that the six residents of Akhvakh district of Dagestan were ill with the skin form of anthrax.

According to the experts of Rosselkhznadzor, they carried out a preliminary inspection on-site and established that part of the infected flesh was realized to the kindergarten.

"Part of the flesh was realized to the kindergarten but for the reason that the refrigerator there was out of action, the manager returned part of the flesh to its owners and another part was bought by the personnel of the kindergarten. They are among those taken ill", Ruslan Ozdemirov, Head of Department of state veterinary surveillance of Rosselkhznadzor, said to the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.

According to him, protocols were drawn up concerning the woman owner of the infected flesh which she sold right from a car without and accompanying documents and the manager of the kindergarten who bought the production without such documents or stamps certifying veterinary sanitary examination. They may be fined to 500 or 1000 rubles.

"The experts examined the whole head of livestock where the infected animal had pastured but no other animal with symptoms of anthrax was found. An additional induced vaccination of the animals which is mandatory in case of detection of anthrax was undertaken", Ruslan Ozdemirov said.

Gennady Onishenko, Head State Sanitary Doctor of the Russian Federation and Head of Rosselkhznadzor, earlier declared that there was no threat to the people's lives and the situation was under the experts' control, RIA "Novosti" reports.

Yet on June, 29, Magomed Gazimagomedov, Head of Veterinary Committee of Dagestan, reported that according to the data of Anticontagious Service, the state of all those hospitalized for suspicion of anthrax was satisfactory.

"Four of them are practically ready to leave hospital and the woman who underwent treatment in the Republican Central infectious diseases hospital has already left it", RIA "Dagestan" quotes Gazimagomedov.
