Vladikavkaz resident sentenced for calls to expel natives of South Caucasus from North Ossetia

The Lenin District Court of Vladikavkaz sentenced David Kachlaev, a local resident, who disseminated extremist materials on the Internet, to six months of correctional labour. The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that the 24-year-old man was charged of inciting hatred or enmity and humiliation of human dignity (Part 1 of Article 282 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation).

The investigators and the Court revealed that on December 10 and 15, 2011, at his home in Vladikavkaz, David Kachlaev, with the help of the personal computer belonging to him, prepared and disseminated on the Internet statements aimed at inciting hatred and enmity and humiliation of groups of persons of Armenian and Azerbaijani nationalities. This was reported on June 15 by the website of the Investigatory Department of the Investigatory Committee of the Russian Federation (ICRF) in North Ossetia.

Judicial trial was held in a special manner, since the defendant fully admitted his guilt and repented of his deed.

"The Court sentenced him to six months of correctional labour, and 10 percent of its earnings will be directed in favour of the state," the "Interfax" quoted Eduard Gusov, Spokesman of the ICRF in the region.

"For North Ossetia, it was a precedent the identification of the crime under that Article of the Criminal Code," said earlier the representative of the investigators.
