Investigators charge Rasul Mirzaev in final wording

Today, Rasul Mirzaev, World Champion in Mixed Martial Arts, after the conflict with whom Ivan Agafonov, a 19-year-old Moscow resident, face charge in the final version of intentional infliction of serious bodily injury that resulted in death of the victim.

The incident involving Rasul Mirzaev got a great response. In Dagestan, public representatives stated that the federal media highlight only one side of it, and the Republic's Parliament adopted an appeal asking them not to politicize the situation.

Charge against Rasul Mirzaev stipulates 15 years of imprisonment.

Today, Oksana Mikhalkina, representative of the victims, reported on damage of the disc with the video record made at the "Garage" Club, which recorded Rasul Mirzaev's stroke, after which Ivan Agafonov died. The lawyer stated that the record represents the main prosecution evidence in the case; however, she expressed the opinion that damage of the disc would not affect the course of the case.

Today, the investigators confirmed that the disc was not the main evidence in a criminal case, but only the physical carrier of information relevant to the investigation.

Copy of the record, taken from the video detector installed in the video camera was recognized as the material evidence. The Investigatory Committee of the Russian Federation (ICRF) emphasizes that a copy of the record was made in several originals for the preliminary investigation bodies.

The investigators emphasize that the copy is publicly available on the Internet and that it is has been repeatedly demonstrated by a variety of media and, in the case of relevant motion, it will be provided for examination to the defence and representatives of the victim.
