Memorial to victims of Ossetian-Ingush conflict opened in Ingushetia

In Nazran, the memorial to the memory of victims of the Ossetian-Ingush conflict of 1992 was opened. Next to him, a mosque and a prayer house were built. Opening of the memorial was dedicated to the 20th anniversary of Ingushetia.

"For a short time, the "Memory" Foundation conducted a large-scale reconstruction of the cemetery, where the persons, perished in the conflict in the Prigorodny District and the city of Vladikavkaz, were buried. At the territory of the cemetery, the Memorial to victims of the fall of 1992 was built, which tombstones with the names of 378 deceased and 192 persons missing during and immediately after the Ingush conflict, and the mosque, the prayer house, and the symbolic structures were built," stated the representative of the press service of the Ingush government.

Despite the fact that the fate of persons missing during the conflict is not known till present, a stela were erected at the memorial cemetery to commemorate them, the "Interfax-Yug" reports.

"I believe that this is the main object, handed to the 20th anniversary of Ingushetia," stated, in his turn, Yunus-Bek Evkurov, the leader of the republic. He continued: "It will have a direct impact on bringing-up the younger generation. Let this cemetery be a reminder for adult and young people that every person will appear before Allah and answer for his or her words and deeds."

Participants in the opening ceremony held on June 4 jointly visited the Memorial Cemetery. At the end of the event, according to Muslim traditions, prayers for the deceased and missing persons were read, the "Ekho Moskvy" (Echo of Moscow) reports.
