Three persons, injured in fire in Volgograd cafe, go to court

Three persons, injured in gas explosion and fire in the cafe "Bellagio", have filed lawsuits to the Central District Court of Volgograd to demand compensation for moral damages. One of the victims, in accordance with the decision of the Court, will receive compensation of 200,000 roubles.

The explosion in the cafe in the Central District of Volgograd, in which 21 persons were injured, occurred on February 14. According to preliminary data of investigators, the explosion was caused by explosion of gas cylinder that was used for heating of the premises.

"The Court received three lawsuits from victims against the Limited Liability Company (LLC) 'Akhtuba' (the owner of the cafe 'Bellagio'). Plaintiffs ask to oblige the Company to pay 3 million roubles to each complainant for moral damages. One lawsuit has already been considered," said today a representative of the District Court.

The lawsuits were filed by Edita Novikova, Victoria Zhidkova, and Artyom Fisenko. The Court has already considered the lawsuit filed by Victoria Zhidkova. "Based on the facts of the case and guided by the principles of reasonableness and fairness, the Court determined the amount of compensation for moral damages in the amount of 200,000 roubles," stated a source at the Court. The decision has not yet entered into force and may be challenged.

The Court scheduled consideration of the lawsuit filed by Artyom Fisenko against the LLC 'Akhtuba' for June 13, the RIA "Novosti" reports. The court session to consider the lawsuit filed by Edita Novikova will be held on June 20.

At the same time, according to Andrei Koshkadaev, the owner of the cafe "Bellagio", compensations were paid to 16 victims, and 20 million 341 thousand roubles were spent for that, the newspaper "Vse dlya Vas" (All for You) reports.
