Case of teenager's killing in Dagestan brought to Investigatory Department of NCFD

The criminal case on the fact of death of Imadibir Makhiev, a 16-year-old resident of the village of Karata of the Akhvakh District, the pupil of the 11th form, was brought to examination to Yessentuki to the Investigatory Department of the North-Caucasian Federal District (NCFD). This was told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent by Denga Makhiev, the uncle of the deceased teenager.

The tragedy occurred in the village of Karata at night of April 16. According to a resident of the village, Zaur Djalilov, the policeman from the local OVD (Interior Division), opened fire for effect from the service pistol to young men, who started a fight between themselves. A bullet got into the head of the 16-year-old teenager. He was immediately delivered to hospital, where he died on April 25. The policeman Zaur Djalilov was detained. Relatives of the killed teenager claim delay of the investigation.

"I and my family insisted and insist on re-qualifying of act of the policeman, who due to charge under Article 118 of the Russian Criminal Code (infliction of grievous bodily harm as a result of improper performance of his or her professional duties) faces only conditional sentence. Participants of the incident are well aware that Zaur Djalilov without any reason opened fire for effect and killed my nephew, and investigator sees no reason for revision of the Article. I hope that at least officials in the city of Yessentuki will listen to our opinion," said Denga Makhiev.

Comments of the investigator Gadjimurad Saidov are unavailable. Earlier, he explained, that he could not immediately consider the criminal case on the fact of death of Imadibir Makhiev. "I along serve four mountainous districts and I am on the road all the time; however, the criminal case will be investigated in full," said Gadjimurad Saidov the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent. Later, he stated that he conducted his work in full.
