Lawyer of Dagestani resident, detained during special operation, complains to prosecutor's office against investigator

Abdurakhman Djakaev, a resident of the Khasavyurt District of Dagestan, suspected of illegal possession of weapons, started reviewing the materials of the criminal case. Sapiyat Magomedova, the lawyer of the suspect, claims Abdurakhman Djakaev being pressured by investigator, and she has filed a complaint to the prosecutor's office.

According to Sapiyat Magomedova, the investigatory authorities put pressure on Abdurakhman Djakaev.

"The investigator brings the suspect to the police station and asks him to sign the protocol on the review without actual review of the materials. The suspect himself asks to bring the case materials to the detention facility for his review this is permitted by the law; however, the investigatory authorities refuse. Abdurakhman Djakaev motivates his request by the fact that he wants to carefully read the materials of the case, while no one would interfere in his reading," said the lawyer.

According to her, policemen several times brought Abdurakhman Djakaev to the ROVD (District Interior Division) and forced him to sit in the hallway.

"And then they stated that why he should read (the materials of the criminal case, note of the 'Caucasian Knot'), when he could just sign the document. They completed an act that Abdurakhman Djakaev allegedly refused to read the case. My client suffers from a neurological disorder, and after every such fact of lawlessness his blood pressure increases. How can he read anything in such a state? I filed a complaint to the prosecutor's office of the Khasavyurt District against unlawful actions of the investigator that he deliberately created a tense atmosphere for the suspect. All this is being done to ensure that Abdurakhman Djakaev will give up and sign a protocol of review," says Sapiyat Magomedova.

The case, instituted against Abdurakhman Djakaev, is under investigation and the investigation is not to be discussed. This was commented to the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent by a representative of the Khasavyurt ROVD.
