In Dagestan, relatives of Makhachkala resident report about his kidnapping

In Dagestan, Magomedkhan Magomedkhanov, a 34-year-old resident of Makhachkala, a native of the village of Kharachi of the Untsukul District of Dagestan, was kidnapped. This was reported by his relatives.

According to the relatives of the kidnapped man, a complaint about the kidnapping was registered at the police department, and the appropriate appeal was sent to the Human Rights Centre "Memorial".

The complaint notes that Magomedkhan Magomedkhanov stopped responding to phone calls on May 15 at about 3:00 p.m. Magomedkhan Magomedkhanov disappeared with his car, a Priora car of white colour. According to unconfirmed information, he was kidnapped at about 12:00 a.m. in Ametkhan Sultan Avenue in Makhachkala by men in camouflage and masks.

"We have no witnesses, who can confirm that, so I'm, being a lawyer, cannot say anything about kidnappers. However, the kidnapping was most likely committed by secret services; this is their style of acting. Every week, people are being kidnapped like that at our place. Meanwhile, with the help of our relatives and friends we are looking for Magomedkhan throughout all law enforcement agencies; however, we cannot find him," says lawyer Nurmagomed Magomedov, the half-cousin of the disappeared man.

On May 17, family members of Magomedkhan Magomedkhanov also intend to appeal to the organization "Mothers of Dagestan". "I already know about that case from my colleagues in the Untsukul District. As soon as I get a complaint from the family members of the disappeared man, I will send it to the prosecutor's office. To contact them today, after the end of the working day, is senseless. They won't say anything," emphasizes Svetlana Isaeva, the leader of the organization "Mothers of Dagestan".
