A trestle bed set in the courtroom for one of the defendants on the case of assault at Nalchik

Defendant Zaur Tokhov will participate in the trial on the case of assault at Nalchik in a lying position for one month and a half. A special trestle bed was set in the courtroom for this purpose.

It should be reminded that Tokhov was operated on for slipped disk. On April, 27, the defendant was operated on in neurosurgical unit of the Republican clinic and then moved to the hospital of Department of Federal Penitentiary Service (DFPS).

So far as after this operation a patient can only lie or stand during a month or more, a special place was equipped for him in the courtroom where doctors could be beside.

On May, 14, the session started with a motion of Tokhov's attorney Murat Ozrokov. He asked to change preventive punishment to his client for release on his own recognizance or home arrest.

"Tokhov needs time for rehabilitation which is impossible in the hospital of DFPS, the more so in the investigative isolation ward. I suggest changing preventive punishment to Tokhov taking into consideration his state, his three little children and the fact that he has dwellings", the attorney said.

Tokhov himself and other defendants supported the motion.

The prosecution spoke against granting the motion referring to the opinion of the medics of penal colony No 3 that Tokhov could participate in the process. "He is getting out-patient treatment and there is a special place for him in the courtroom", Head of the group of state prosecutors Olga Chibineva said.

The court dismissed the motion but decided to hold sessions on May, 14 and 15 till 13 o'clock only taking into consideration Tokhov'a state of health.
