Three residents of Rostov-on-Don detained for a scuffle and murder on ethnic grounds

Three young men were detained in Rostov region for suspicion of murder of a nineteen-years-old Meskhetian Turk on national hatred grounds.

The young man's body with signs of violent death was found at night of May, 6, near the Sports Palace in Rostov-on-Don.

The suspects of committing the crime, two of them aged 19 and the third one 22, were identified and detained by the personnel of regional departments of the Ministry of Interior Affairs and Federal Security Service.

The investigation prepared a motion of preventive punishment for the suspects in form of custody, web-site of Investigative Department of Committee of Inquiry of the Russian Federation (CIR) reported on May, 10.

According to the investigation's version, in the evening of May, 6, a company of young people of over 10 persons most of whom stick to radical nationalist views assaulted at two young men. It emerged later that one of them was Russian, the other Meskhetian Turk, "Rostov News Agency" referring to official representative of regional Investigative Department Valery Chekryshev reports.

When the victims tried to run away the three suspects caught up with the Turk, knocked him down and cut him up with knives. The young man died on-site from wounding. His friend who was beaten up managed to escape.

Investigative bodies of CIR in Rostov region initiated a criminal case on indication to the crime stipulated by point "l", part 2, clause 105 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (murder on the grounds of national hatred).
