Inspection on the fact of beating at the Krasnoyarsk SIZO-1 (pre-trial prison) of Aslan Cherkesov, a native of Nalchik, who was sentenced for the murder of Yegor Sviridov, a football fan, has been completed. This was reported by the press service of the Chief Department of the Federal Penitentiary Service (known as FSIN) of the Russian Federation in the Krasnoyarsk Territory.
"Testing has not confirmed the fact of beating," explained the staff member of the press service of the FSIN Chief Department in the Krasnoyarsk Territory the results of the conducted actions to the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.
Lawyer Igor Kuznetsov, who wrote a statement about the inspection on the fact of beating of his client in the SIZO-1, was also aware of the results of the inspection.
"I received the official response only from the department of detention facility and not from the Investigatory Committee or the Prosecutor's Office. They have a version that Cherkesov got an only bruise on his right knee, which appeared, when he descended from the second tier of bunks and tripped or slipped and fell down," said Igor Kuznetsov in his interview to the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.
According to the defender of Aslan Cherkesov, at present, everything is fine with his client, and he is being kept in better conditions than earlier.
"Cherkesov had a long a three-day meeting with his wife Tatiana. We were worried that it might not happen; however, our fears were in vain. So far, everything has calmed down," said Igor Kuznetsov.
