In Sochi, tenants of old house complain about inaction of authorities to solve their problems

Tenants of the old house located in Petropavlovskaya Street in the Adler District of Sochi, who face problems with electricity since February, report that the authorities failed to fulfil their promises voiced at the audience with the Mayor to solve their housing problems.

According to the tenants, starting from February 9, there is no electricity in the tenement house No. 3 located in Petropavlovskaya Street. In accordance with the court decision issued on November 13, 2011, the house was subject to transfer from the balance of the organization "PMK-20" to the balance of the municipality; however, according to tenants, the decision was not fulfilled. On April 7, at the personal audience with the Mayor, the tenants were promised to receive assistance by organizing a commission to recognize the house to be old one and to settle the people in comfortable housing.

"A month has passed since our audience with the Mayor; however, we have not even received a response from the city administration, and we met no commission. We continue to experience discomfort due to inadequate provision of public services and maintenance of the house," says Svetlana Evseeva, the member of the initiative group.

According to the woman, in response to appeals filed earlier, they receive from officials only run-around letters.

E. Kuznetsova, Deputy Prosecutor of the Adler District, writes that they see no reasons for taking actions of the prosecutor's response.

Till present, the "Caucasian Knot" has no comments from the Sochi Mayoralty on the claims of city residents.
