In Dagestan, court finds two information websites as extremist

On May 4, the Soviet District Court of Makhachkala upheld the demand of the Prosecutor's Office and recognized two Internet resources as extremist ones. According to the Office, they acted in the interests of the local bandit underground.

"The check conducted by the Prosecutor's Office of Dagestan has revealed a website 'vdagestan.com' and its backup resource 'vdagestan.info', presented as the 'official resource', acting in the interests of the republic's bandit underground," the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent was told by a source from the Prosecutor's Office of Dagestan.

According to his story, it was established that these information resources "had posted the materials by Amir Seifullah 'Jihad against Apostates' and the 'Kitab bat-Tawhid' (Book of Monotheism) by Muhammad ibn Suleiman at-Tamimi."

"These materials had been considered extremist and put on the Federal List of Extremist Materials of the Russian Ministry of Justice," said the source.

As reported by the office of Soviet Court of Makhachkala, on May 4 the Court satisfied the claim of the Prosecutor's Office in full.

On May 3, the Prosecutor's Office of Makhachkala demanded from local Internet providers to block users' access to a number of websites, which were labelled as extremist ones. Providers complain that they cannot define the "legality and illegality" of these or those Internet resources by themselves.
