Dagestan: local resident states kidnapping of his cousin

On April 20 in Makhachkala, unidentified persons in masks kidnapped a local resident Zalbek Magomed-Kamilovich Paizulaev, born in 1967. This was announced by his cousin Ramzan Omarov, who addressed human rights activists asking to help to find his relative.

On the day of kidnapping, from one to two in the afternoon, Zalbek Paizulaev was, together with his nephew Gadjimurad Musalov, in the mosque in Kolyshkin Street in Makhachkala. When they came out of the mosque, they got into Gadjimurad's car and drove in direction of the marketplace, but, having passed a hundred meters, they stopped, as a car wheel failed.

Zalbek Paizulaev's house was some two hundred meters off the place, where the car stopped; and he went to the house for a spanner to take the wheel off. At that moment, Gadjimurad Musalov, who also got out of the car, heard that Zalbek was calling him. Turning around, the young man saw that his uncle was surrounded by about six men in black uniform and masks. Two Lada Priora cars without registration numbers and a VAZ-21014 could be seen nearby. The agents grasped Zalbek, forced him into a Lada-Priora and left in the direction of Mayakovsky Street.

According to Gadjimurad, the kidnappers acted very quickly and smoothly – the operation took just one or two minutes.

Musalov immediately called Ramzan Omarov, and together they went to the administration of the head of the republic and the Kirov ROVD (District Interior Division) of Makhachkala, where they wrote applications about the incident.

On April 21, about 300 relatives of the kidnapped person gathered outside the building of Dagestani MIA. An on duty officer came out to them, asked Ramzan Omarov about the reasons for the gathering and escorted him to the deputy minister. The latter listened to the man and promised to help in the search. After that, Paizulaev's relatives dispersed.
