Pickets of solidarity with ecologists and "Yabloko people" of Krasnodar region passed off in Moscow

On April, 16, an action in support of Yaroslav Nikolsky, activist of "Yabloko" party, was held near the building of Permanent mission of Krasnodar region in Moscow. The participants of the pickets also demanded to dismiss the criminal case against Krasnodar ecologists Suren Gazaryan and Evgeny Vitishko.

Earlier, the "Caucasian Knot" reported that Yaroslav Nikolsky was detained on April, 13, during a picket against the lack of places in the kindergartens of Krasnodar. Nikolsky was detained after he asked the representatives of law enforcement bodies to show their service certificates. A charge according to clause 19.3 of the Code of administrative violations "Failure to comply with a police officer's legal demands" was brought against him.

Members of "Environmental Watch on North Caucasus" Suren Gazaryan and Evgeny Vitishko were first held liable as suspects on the criminal case of spoiling the fence in the territory of forest resources, near the country house which the ecologists consider property of Governor of the region Alexander Tkachev. According to the investigation's version, the ecologists covered in graffiti the fence with barbed wire around the ?lite villa in the neighbourhood of Tuapse.

Gailna Mikhaleva, Executive secretary of Political Committee of "Yabloko" party, ecologist Sergey Menzheritsky, leader of the movement "Open Shore" and Yaroslav Nikitenko, activist of the movement "Habitat" took part in the action held in Moscow.

The participants unfolded posters: "Freedom to Yaroslav Nikolsky!", "Hands off Gazaryan and Vitishko", "Trachev, go away!". Facing the windows of the Mission the picketers chanted these and other slogans, radio "Freedom" reports.

Nobody responded to the picketers' requests to come out to meet them which they passed to the Mission through the guard.

According to Gailna Mikhaleva, the actions will go on until Nikolsky is released and the case against Gazaryan and Vitishko is dismissed, web-site of "Yabloko" party reports.

It should be reminded that six single-person pickets in support of activists Nikolsky, Gazaryan and Vitishko were held in Krasnaya street of Krasnodar on April, 15.
