Nurgaliev promises State Duma deputy to clarify number of persons kidnapped for two years in Ingushetia

The data about kidnapping of 88 persons in Ingushetia over the past two years and involvement of power agents in these crimes need to be checked, said today Rashid Nurgaliev, Russia's Interior Minister, in response to a request of a State Duma MP.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that the issue of human rights violations by power agents and the worsening of the criminal situation in Ingushetia was to be raised today at the session of the State Duma by Deputy Bilan Khamchiev.

"I watch closely everything that happens in the republic, but we disagree with you in the figures. According to my data (in Ingushetia) for 2010-2011 and three months of 2012, there were 13 crimes under Article 126 of the Criminal Code (kidnapping). These figures need to be checked," said Nurgaliev.

He added that the criminal cases instituted under this article are investigated by the Investigatory Committee of the Russian Federation (ICRF). "We, as the MIA, are providing the operative support. Today, I'm not ready to say, but I promise that I'll update information about these 13 facts, statistics and the data of the ICRF," said Rashid Nurgaliev, as quoted by the RIA "Novosti".

The Minister also noted that "the flow of people in spotty uniform in Northern Caucasus is still in need of study," the "Rosbalt" News Agency reports.

Let us remind you that on April 10 the public-political organization "Mekhk-Kkhel" sent an appeal to the State Duma Deputy from Ingushetia Bilan Khamchiev and members of the Council of Federation Akhmet Palankoev and Nikita Ivanov, expressed criticism of representatives of Ingushetia in power bodies, who, according to the authors of the appeal "fail to properly raise thorny problems of the republic." The appeal was sent to the context of frequent kidnappings and murders, worsening of the crime situation in the republic, as well as in the context of the murder of civilians in Nazran on April 3, including an elderly woman.
