LDPR party in Stavropol held an action demanding resignation of the Governor

On April, 12, activists of Stavropol regional branch of LDPR party held an action under the slogan "Launch the Governor to space!". Concurrently the department of the party started collecting signatures under the demand of the Governor's resignation.

The action passed off in Pushkin street of Stavropol. About twenty activists with party banners released a cardboard rocket from a balloon with a cartoon image of Governor of Stavropol region Valery Gaevsky fastened to it and a slogan: "Guber-travel: if unfit for the driving seat of the region then be in the driving seat of the Mars!", the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent reports.

Head of the regional branch of the party Denis Kushnarev told the journalists that the party started collecting signatures under an open letter to the President and Prime Minister with the demand of Valery Gaevsky's discharge.

According to Kushnarev, this flash-mob was logically next step after the party leader Vladimir Zhirinovsky's speech at the plenary session of State Duma of the Russian Federation on April, 11. Zhirinovsky then said: "I would like the personnel problems to be settled. Gennady Andreevich (Zyuganov - note by the "Caucasian Knot) will support me… Two parties are asking to solve the problem of Governor of Stavropol region".

In the regional office of the party the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent was told that during the past years LDPR has consistently criticized the authorities of the region.

Earlier, Zhirinovsky suggested to discharge Stavropol Governor speaking at the meeting in Pushkin square of Moscow on November, 4, last year. In particular, he said: "Governor Gaevsky is violating all the laws. He does not let us hang up the billboards "For the Russians!".

At a session of Stavropol regional Duma on November, 10, 2011, Head of LDPR fraction Ilia Drozdov suggested to appeal to the President of the Russian Federation asking to discharge Governor Valery Gaevsky. The majority of the deputies spoke against this suggestion.

In the Department of Press service of the Governor of Stavropol region the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent was explained that the Governor was not going to comment on the statements of the activists of LDPR and Vladimir Zhirinovsky at the moment.

Earlier, regional branches of "Yabloko", KPRF parties and political movements "Union of the Communists of Stavropol region" and "Russian Unity of the Caucasus" demanded Valery Gaevsky's resignation during meetings of protest.
