Abkhazian authorities alarmed at situation in Adjaria

"We are closely watching the situation in Adjaria and press for the autonomous republic's authorities to save members of the Abkhazian Diaspora from the attacks by nationalistic elements committing excesses," announced Vice President of Abkhazia Valery Arshba. As it is known, clashes between civilians - adversaries and supporters of Aslan Abashidze, leader of the republic - have taken place in Adjaria. "Several thousands of Abkhazians live in Adjaria, therefore their destiny cannot but make the Abkhazian leadership anxious," noted Mr Arshba.
