CEC of South Ossetia announced the results of the first round of the presidential election

Central Election Committee of South Ossetia signed the final protocol of the results of the first round of re-run of presidential election according to which Leonid Tibilov was acknowledged leader.

According to the final protocol of CEC, two candidates will participate in the second round: Leonid Tibilov who polled 42,48 per cent votes, i.e., was supported by 11 453 electors, and David Sanakoev who polled 24,58 per cent votes supported by 6 627 electors.

Two other candidates, Dmitry Medoev who polled 23,79 per cent (5415) votes, and Stanislav Kochiev with 5,25 per cent (1417) votes quitted the presidential competition, RIA “Novosti” reports.
