Grozny residents report on serious problems with water supply

For several weeks, there is no water supply in two villages of the Staropromyslovsky District of the Chechen capital. According to local residents, the city authorities and the community services of the city, show complete indifference to the problem.

"In our village, three streets Kirovograd, Korolenko, and Krasin stay without water for more than a month. We addressed this problem to the "Gorvodokanal", administration and other places; however, no one has taken any measures. Like in war time, we have to bring water from other streets or to bring it in tanks," said a resident of the village of Verkhnyaya Katayama of the Staropromyslovsky District of the Chechen capital.

"They explain absence of water by the fact that pipes went frozen during February cold weather. It is unclear, whether the communal services expect that water in the pipes would go unfrozen or something else. And at the same time, we regularly obtain receipts with requirement to pay for utility services, including for water consumption, which we do not have," said another resident of this village.

Residents of the village of Avtotrest also report on the problems with water supply. Here, in several apartment buildings located along the Staropromyslovsky highway, water is absent for more than two weeks. However, at the same time, basements of the buildings are completely flooded with water, and in the apartments, ceilings and walls darken because of dampness.

"We have interruptions to water supply for more than one year. The same situation we had last summer and fall. And at present, we again stay without water for two weeks, although our basements are flooded with it. We had repeatedly appealed to the production department of housing management and the administration of the district; however, till present, the problem has not been resolved," said Salavdi, a resident of the village of Avtotrest.

A representative of the district administration told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent that the problems with water supply in the villages of Verkhnyaya Katayama and Avtotrest would be resolved soon.
