Sochi launches a terminal "e-reception office of Russian president"

A terminal, by means of which people can send a verbal or written communication to the President of the Russian Federation in electronic form, was launched in Sochi. The new service is available from February 22.

The terminal is installed in the division for receiving citizens of the department for working with applications citizens and organizations of the Sochi City Administration. Prior to use the terminal, one should address the employee in charge of registration of citizens' applications.

"He will take you to the room, where passes to the Administration are issued, and explain how to use the terminal," Elena Romanovskaya, the head of the above division, explained to the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.

An applicant should have a Russian passport with him or her. The terminal is equipped with a scanner. The applicant is required to scan the respective pages of the passport, including the page with the place of registration. A video camera mounted in the terminal identifies the person.

The terminal provides several forms of making an application. It can be a typed text, which will be "read" by the scanner and sent to the address; an application can be brought on a flash memory stick and downloaded through the respective ports; or an applicant can type the text directly to the terminal.

One can send an oral message to the president of the Russian Federation via a video link with his representative.

The "Caucasian Knot" correspondent took part in "testing" the terminal installed on February 22 together with applicants.

The veteran of labour Nina Dubovaya learned about the terminal and decided to notify the Russian president about her problem. She sent an appeal to help in restoring her property title, which, in her words, was taken away from her. According to her story, her house, which she bought 15 years ago, was alienated by force and "resold for four times on false documents"; however, "all law enforcement bodies are idling."

Alexei Kravets, a resident of Sochi, said that his only home is under threat of demolition for building some "Olympic facility", but "without any documents and compensation." He told the president that he "holds the defence of his house in order not to stay in the street." He asked Russian president, "as a guarantor of the Constitution, to help him defend his constitutional right to housing."
