A defendant on the case of murder of Kokoity’s bodyguards pronounced his last plea in the court of North Ossetia

Defendant on the case of murder of two President Edward Kokoity’s state bodyguards Albert Tsgoev pronounced his last plea in the court of Vladikavkaz saying that he regretted for what happened and expressing condolence to the victims’ relatives.

“I feel sorry that the conflict resulted in such a tragedy. I condole with the victims’ relatives”, Tsgoev said in his last plea today.

The parties of the process were given a project of a question paper for the jury after which the court announced a fifteen-minutes break for studying the questions.

The judge appointed the next session on February, 28. Then the judge will distribute the questions among the jurymen and they will have to answer them for the verdict to be brought. The judge went to the retiring room in order to draw up the final variant of the question paper for the jury.

On February, 16, the court re-qualified the clause of accusation against the defendant to a more mild one: “Murder in an affective state” after which the parties started debate. The defendant’s attorney asked the court to acknowledge his client victim of circumstances.

In spite of re-qualifying the clause of accusation, Tsgoev may be sentenced to up to five years of custody.
