Athletes from Northern Caucasus acknowledged the best weightlifters of 2011

Natives of Kabardino-Balkaria and North Ossetia Khajimurat Akkaev and Svetlana Tsarukaeva are the best weightlifters of 2011. This was acknowledged based on the results of voting held by “World Weightlifting” journal together with International Weightlifting Federation.

“World Weightlifting” has been defining the best weightlifters for already 28 years, official web-site of Weightlifting Federation of Russia reports.

Native of Kabardino-Balkaria Khajimurat Akkaev became World champion in the category under 105 kg in 2011. By this victory Khajimurat Akkaev won a license on participation in the Olympic games of 2012 in London. Akkaev is also Champion of Europe, prize-winner of the Olympic games and Cup holder of Russia.

At the same Championship Svetlana Tsarukaeva from North Ossetia became record breaker and World champion in weightlifting in the category under 63 kg after lifting the bar of 117 kg weight.
