Public prosecutor's office of Moscow appealed against release of Rasul Mirzaev on bail

Public prosecutor's office of Moscow appealed against the judgment of Zamoskvoretsky court of releasing on bail the twenty-five-years-old World champion in mixed martial arts Rasul Mirzaev after whose blow a nineteen-years-old student Ivan Agafonov died, Prosecutor General's of Russia reported.

Earlier, the "Caucasian Knot" reported that a judge of Zamoskvoretsky court of Moscow granted a motion of Rasul Mirzaev's party by bringing a judgment of release of the champion on bail of 100 thousand rubles and on his own recognizance.

Public prosecutor's office of Moscow made a representation on alteration of Mirzaev's preventive punishment into keeping him in custody.

Representatives of Prosecutor General's pointed out that the prosecuting party was against alteration of the defendant's preventive punishment from the very beginning and insisted on prolongation of his custody term, "ITAR-TASS" reported.

Meanwhile, the bail of 100 thousand rubles for release of Rasul Mirzaev paid for him yesterday came to the settlement account of Zamoskvoretsky court of Moscow.

"The sum came to the settlement account of the court", Press secretary of the court Evgenia Pazukhina reported adding that in the nearest future the court would give out the order on Mirzaev's release to the athlete's attorney, "Interfax" reports.

Earlier, a representative of Public prosecutor's office stated his intention to appeal against alteration of Rasul Mirzaev's preventive punishment. Next, Committee of Inquiry of the Russian Federation issued a statement in which its representative informed that the Committee was dissatisfied with the judgment and was going to insist on Mirzaev's staying in custody until the verdict.

It should be reminded that the conflict between Rasul Mirzaev and the nineteen-years-old student Ivan Agafonov took place on August, 1 3, in the center of Moscow, near "Garage" night club. During the quarrel Mirzaev delivered a blow to Agafonov after which the student was taken to hospital where he died on August, 18, 2011, without recovering consciousness. On January, 12, the investigation re-qualified the clause into "Involuntary homicide". Earlier, the athlete was accused of "infliction of harm on a person's health resulting in the victim's death".
