Ingushetia: Issa Khashagulgov's advocates cannot find their client

For five days already, the advocates of Issa Khashagulgov, who is in custody on charges of involvement in the terror act in the central marketplace in Vladikavkaz, cannot meet their client. As reported by one of them - Rosa Alieva, - investigators would not contact the defence.

"For the last time I saw Issa Khashagulgov on February 4 during his confrontation with Magomed Latyrov. Since then, neither we - the advocates, nor our client's relatives know anything about his whereabouts," Rosa Alieva told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.

According to her story, together with the lawyer Batyrbek Akhilgov, she tried to find their client. "We were told at the SIZO that Issa Khashagulgov had been transferred to the IVS of the MIA of North Ossetia. At the IVS they told us that Khashagulgov was not there. The investigator did not answer by his mobile phone. When we called his office phone, they told us that many inspectors worked in the room, but the person we needed was not in place; and nobody knew when he would appear," said Ms Alieva.

She also said that yesterday, on February 9, she managed to communicate with the investigator by his cell phone, and he agreed to meet her. "At the appointed time I came to the republic's MIA and kept waiting there at the entrance from the midday to the end of the day; however, the investigator did not come out to me (lawyers can get into the MIA only accompanied by some employee). His phone gave no answer. Somewhere at about 7:00 p.m., I went home," said the lawyer, adding that today she could not even get through to the investigator.

Sultan-Girei Khashagulgov, Issa's brother, fears for the defendant's lives and health. "Once the brother also 'disappeared'; he was taken from the SIZO to the IVS (at night on January 19, - note of the "Caucasian Knot"). Then, some unknown men in masks took Issa away to some unfinished building, where they tortured him forcing to confess of committing what he had never dome," said Sultan-Girei.
