About 150 persons attend the rally "For Fair Elections" in Astrakhan

Today, Astrakhan hosted an oppositional rally "For Fair Elections", which was not sanctioned by city authorities. The action was attended by about 150 activists of the "Spravedlivaya Rossiya" (Fair Russia) Party, CPRF (Communist Party of the Russian Federation), "The Other Russia" and other political movements and parties.

The first to speak was Vasily Vorokh, an assistant of Oleg Shein, a deputy of the Russian State Duma, who said that "our votes were stolen; and our feeling of dignity was deeply damaged." "Therefore, we demand fair elections," he said.

Oleg Shein, the head of the regional branch of "Spravedlivaya Rossiya" thanked all those who, despite the frost, came to the rally. He also promised that, once he wins the Mayor election, he "will not drive state employees and students to mass events "for the tick."

Alexander Kochkov, the local CPRF leader, said that in Volgograd the Communist faction had boycotted the sitting of the Regional Duma, where the decision was made to change the status of Bozhenov and appoint him to the post of the governor.

Andrei, a student of the ASTU, told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent that he came to the rally "to express his protest against the current power, which fails to follow citizens' requests."

In the course of the rally, the participants chanted: "We demand fair elections!" No remarks were expressed by law enforcement officials.
