Installing web-cameras in Dagestan will not help solve the problem of ballot rigging, some local observers consider

Part of local observers in Dagestan where installation of web-cameras started at the polling stations for the election of President of Russia are sure that the cameras will not help solve the problem of ballot rigging during voting. In their turn, the authorities state that the systems of video surveillance will make the election more transparent.

It should be reminded that experts of "Rostelecom" limited corporation installed the first web-cameras for monitoring the process of election of President of the Russian Federation that will be held on March, 4, in the town of Izberbash. Within a month "Rostelecom" will have to equip about two thousand polling station with the facilities of video surveillance.

However, some residents of Dagestan consider that installation of web-cameras will not help solve the problem of ballot rigging.

"There will emerge problems with communications or power supply in some polling stations as usual. Besides, the web-camera will not show what is going on in the polling booth. They will stuff tens ballots and that's all", resident of Makhachkala Ruslan said to the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.

Rashid, teacher of a Dagestni institute, considers that none of the online innovations will be efficient in Dagestan. "What webcast can one talk about if during all the previous elections vote totals were not online at the web-site of Central Election Committee, unlike other regions?", Rashid says.

However, other people are enthusiastic about equipping the polling stations with web-cameras. "It's a zany idea, one can watch voting from home. I support it", student Madina says.
