Chechen businessman Islam Satuev, Vice-President of "Xamax" FC, detained in Switzerland

Islam Satuev, Vice-President of the Swiss Football Club "Xamax" from the city of Neuchatel, was detained in Switzerland in the evening on January 26.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that earlier on the same day Bulat Chagaev, the owner of the FC was detained. The prosecutor's office suspects Bulat Chagaev of a fraud.

Besides, the "Xamax" may be accused of document forgery, money laundering, unfair business and unlawful stay in the territory of Switzerland. The RIA "Novosti" reports with reference to Swiss media that the operation to detain Satuev was conducted late at night by the police.

Let us remind you that on January 18 the disciplinary committee of the Swiss Football League (SFL) deprived the "Xamax" FC of the license to play in the national championship and launched the procedure of its bankruptcy.

According to the prosecutor's office of the canton of Neuchatel, Chagaev submitted a false certificate from the Bank of America that he allegedly had 35 million US dollars, based on which he asked the arbitration and regional courts to delay the bankruptcy procedure of his FC.

Jacques Bariyon, Chagaev's advocate, told reporters that his client acknowledged that the document had no relation to the Bank of America, but denies his involvement in making the fake, the Russian Service of the BBC reports.

On January 27, Chagaev met the prosecutor again. Jacques Bariyon told reporters that "his client in the course of the conversation once again stated his innocence," the Russian News Service reports.
