Krasnodar Territory: chief physician of the Hygiene and Epidemiology Centre suspected of bribe-taking

As reported by the Investigatory Committee for the Krasnodar Territory, the chief physician of the Hygiene and Epidemiology Centre of the Krasnodar Territory is suspected of extorting a bribe from his subordinate, whom he had forced, according to investigators, to pay him monthly for unobstructed work.

According to investigators, the suspect has held the position of the head of the Centre since October 2009. In July-August 2011, the chief physician began extorting a monthly bribe of 300,000 roubles from the head of a department for an opportunity to work freely. Besides, he promised his general patronage to the subordinate.

The criminal case was initiated under "an attempted especially large bribe." At present, the suspect is in custody: the issue of his arrest is presently considered, said the Committee.
