A woman put in a nomination as leader of parliamentary fraction for the first time in Ingushetia

Deputy of the People's Assembly Mariam Amrieva was put in a nomination as leader of "United Russia" fraction in the Parliament of the republic.

At present deputy corps of the fifth convocation elected upon the results of voting of December, 4, 2011, is in session in the People's Assembly of Ingushetia.

Earlier, the "Caucasian Knot" reported that upon the results of the election "United Russia" received 22 mandates of a deputy in the People's Assembly out of 27 possible, "Fair Russia" and KPRF have two mandates each and the "Right Cause" party got only 5% votes and has one mandate of a deputy.

Mariam Amrieva's candidacy for the position of leader of "United Russia" fraction was approved at a session of Presidium of General Council of the party held in Moscow on January, 18.

At the same session General Council of "United Russia" adopted abdication of duty of Muhtar Buzurtanov, Secretary of Ingush regional General Council of the party on his own will and submitted the candidacy of Zialimkhan Yevloev, member of regional Political Council, for this position, web-site of "United Russia" reports.

If the "United Russians" elect Amrieva it will become the first case throughout the whole almost 18 year's history of the People's Assembly of Ingushetia when a woman becomes head of a fraction, RIA "Novosti" reports.

Mariam Amrieva is Deputy Chairman of Committee for local self-government, national policy, relations with the public and religious organizations, web-site of the Parliament of Ingushetia reports. All in all there are three women and 23 men in the republican Parliament.

  • Rights defenders give number of kidnapped people in Chechnya

    At least 80 residents of Chechnya have been kidnapped after a car with a DUSTUM license plate was set on fire; volunteers have identified the names of a number of them.
