Dagestan: explosion in medical centre injures two persons

An explosion occurred in a private medical centre "Med-Luxe" in Kizlyar, which wounded two persons. The reasons of the explosion are being established, said the Ministry for Emergencies (MfE) of Dagestan.

"Today at 12:10 a.m., the Chief Directorate of the Russian MfE for the Republic of Dagestan received a message from the dispatcher of Kizlyar that an explosion occurred in the private medical centre 'Med-Luxe', which was followed by a fire," says the statement of the MfE.

According to rescuers, two persons were wounded by the explosions and brought to the Central City Hospital of Kizlyar. "No children and women were hurt," said the MfE.

"The explosion was followed by a fire catching a total area of 30 square meters; the fire was localized and liquidated at 12:20 a.m.," said the MfE.

So far, the reason of the explosion has not been established.

"One of the versions of the explosion is that a patient who took treatment in sulfurated hydrogen baths lit a cigarette in this room. It was he who suffered the most during the explosion; however, his condition is not serious. Also, a cigarette butt was found at the scene of the incident," the RIA "Novosti" reports with reference to a source in law enforcement bodies of Dagestan.
