A policeman in Kalmykia suspected of killing a local resident

Jambulat Doskaziev, district police officer of "Lagansky" inter-district Department of the Ministry of Interior Affairs of Russia, is suspected of murder. This was told to the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent by Arslan Churiumov, Senior assistant Head of Investigative department of Kalmykia for intercommunication with mass media.

According to him, on January, 12, Investigative department of Committee of Inquiry of the Russian Federation in the Republic of Kalmykia initiated a criminal case against Doskaziev according to clause 105 of the Criminal code of the Russian Federation (murder).

On the same day Minister of Interior Affairs of Kalmykia Baatr Gindeev gave a press conference where he reported the details of the case. He said that on January, 5, Kurbakhajieva, resident of the settlement of Prikumskoye, Chernozemelsky district of Kalmykia, called to the standby unit of the settlement of Komsomolskoye and reported that her son Lema Kurbakhajiev born in 1975 disappeared.

Search of the missing man was carried out by two search groups formed out of district police officers and the personnel of Criminal office. As a result of operative search actions the policemen found out that on January, 1, Jambulat Doskaziev was guarding public order in his administrative district in Prikumskoye when resident of the settlement Lema Kurbakhajiev in a drunken state came up to him and started reproaching the officer for his actions.

A conflict broke out as a result of which the policeman shot into Kurbakhajiev's head from Government-issue weapon and the man died on-site. According to preliminary version reported by Minister Gindeev, the shot as undeliberate. In order to get rid of the dead man Doskaziev carried his body away to a seven kilometers distance from the settlement and hid it there.

Later the policeman confessed of the crime, showed the place where the dead body was hidden and sent in his papers for dismissal from law enforcement bodies.

Jambulat Doskaziev was born in Vladikavkaz. Last year he graduated from Volgograd Academy of the Ministry of Interior Affairs of Russia and got an efficiency record there after which he was detached to Kalmykia.

As for the lost Kurbakhajiev, it became known that Doskaziev had detained him three times: twice for administrative infringement and once for suspicion of theft and he therefore could have personal enmity towards the district policeman.

At the press conference Baatr Gindeev said that a committee had been formed by his order which was carrying out internal official inspection on the case.

According to him, in 2011, 11 criminal cases were initiated upon the results of such inspections concerning the Kalmyk policemen.
