Women's Muslim Club "Iman" opened in Grozny

The Women's I Muslim Club "Iman" was opened in the Chechen capital for "spiritual and moral education of Chechen women."

The Club "Iman" (Faith) was established in June 2011 on the initiative of Elina Muzhedova, a student of the Chechen State University, who is the head of the club. Its official opening took place on January 5 at the State Theatre and Concert Hall in Grozny.

Activists of the "Iman" see their main mission in implementing "projects of spiritual and moral education of Chechen women." According to its organizers, the "Iman" is primarily an educating facility for girls and young women.

"The idea is to unite women-Muslims of the republics, give them a chance to receive information about the status of women in Islam and so on. Since its foundation and up to its official registration, our club has already taken part in several charitable and other actions," an activist of the Club "Iman" told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.

Most members of the "Iman" are students of Chechen higher schools. However, schoolgirls and older woman are also invited.
