"Caucasian Knot" defines winners among Twitter commentators

The Internet-medium "Caucasian Knot" has summed up its contest for the best Twitter message. On December 19-29, 2011, readers voted for the messages selected by the editorial staff. As a result, most votes were cast for the comments sent by Gennady Chernayvsky, Temirzhan Baisiev and Laneya95, who will receive prizes.

Out of 1517 Twitt-messages posted in the period from June 1 to December 7, 2011, the editorial board of the "Caucasian Knot" selected 10, which, in the opinion of the edition, responded to the following criteria: matching the topic, ability to briefly and clearly formulate ideas, and compliance to the rules of the "Caucasian Knot".

The comments that readers publish in the Twitter on the material of the edition, as well as in the forum, often contain information that can help to cover important topics, which affect our families, friends and neighbours, but which the society often prefers to hush up. An open discussion often forces federal and local authorities to try to fix the problematic situation. Practice shows that activeness of civil servants often depends on activeness of our readers.

The Twitt-messages that participated in the contest cover the armed conflict, continuing in Northern Caucasus, different aspects of the policy pursued by local authorities, the arrival in Chechnya of Muslim relics, which had a great resonance in Chechnya and elsewhere, ethnic conflicts and preparations for presidential elections in Abkhazia.

Most readers liked the Twitt-messages of the user Gennady Chernayvsky, who commented the material "Director of sports-training base was killed for non-payment of zakyat, a source from Tyrnyauz reports" by writing: "It would be nice to introduce a rule on the website: IF YOU ARE THREATENED, TELL EVERYONE ABOUT IT." His comment was voted for by 430 (44.15 percent) out of 974 participating voters.

The message of Temirzhan Baisiev "Much more people perish in road accidents... but the whole country is at war on terrorism!!!", who commented the material "In 2011, 64 persons were killed in Moscow and Northern Caucasus by suicide bombers", won 122 (12.53 percent) of votes.

The reader Laneya95, who was marked for commenting the material "Sambo fighter Rasul Mirzaev will remain under arrest" by writing: "It occurs with us for our own fault, for lack of unity, our nations are ordered about!" and won 90 votes (9.24 percent).

The winners of the contest Gennady Chernayvsky, Temirzhan Baisiev and Laneya95 will receive their prizes - a digital photo camera Kodak EasyShare M531 and hard drives Transcend 500 Gb and Transcend 320 Gb, respectively.
