The Ministry of Interior Affairs of Ingushetia: policemen accidentally killed a driver who refused to stop

Tonight members of power ministries attempted to stop a car of a sixty-year-old resident of Ingushetia Ruslan Ozdoev near one of the supplementary posts set at the entrance of the town of Karabulak. Representatives of the Ministry of Interior Affairs of the republic state that the man disobeyed their demand and was unintentionally killed during persecution and firing at the tyres by one of the bullets which supposedly ricocheted from a bumper.

This post was set in connection with the information of a possible break-in of participants of armed underground into the settlements, which according to law enforcement bodies was within the law. According to security officials, "the police personnel had legal grounds for the use of firearms for there were significant reasons to presume that the car might be used for transporting gunmen".

"In spite of the fact that the personnel were wearing uniforms with insignia and there was special motor transport at the post, the driver of the car ignoring the demands to stop drove away from the site at a high speed. In one or two minutes the police tried to block him in Balkoev street. However, the driver ignored the demand to stop once again and practically guided his car at the policemen creating a threat to their lives and health. The policemen opened fire at the wheels and one of the bullets got into the driver", the Ministry of Interior Affairs reported.

Representatives of the Ministry of Interior Affairs of the republic called the accident a tragic fortuity and expressed condolence to the victim's family. Inquiry on the fact is going on, web-site of the Ministry of Interior Affairs of Ingushetia reports. A request to the population is also placed there not to make the security officials use arms.

This year members of the top brass have time and again killed local residents or natives of the neighbouring republics all of whom were later declared gunmen or terrorists. In particular, Ruslan Tsurov suspected of participation in armed underground and preparation of acts of terror was killed on October, 5, in Nazran. On September, 17, local resident Ruslan Mutaliev also suspected of participation in armed underground was killed in a special operation in Nazran.
