Two officials in Chechnya sentenced to custody conditionally for non-payment of wages

Working and ex-Director of one of the state enterprises of Chechnya were sentenced to one and two years of custody for non-payment of wages to their employees.

On December, 20, a criminal case of Visitaev, Director of state unitary enterprise (SUE) "Goskhoz Jalka", accused of committing a crime stipulated by part 2, clause 145 of the Criminal code of the Russian Federation (non-payment of wages) was considered in the magistrate's court of Shali district.

The court established that the Director of the enterprise with all the necessary financial facilities available did not pay the salary for October and November, 2010, to eight workers. The Director's guilt of committing the above mentioned action was proven and he was sentenced to one year of custody conditionally on probation of one year's term", a representative of law enforcement bodies of the republic told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.

According to him, last week ex-Director of "Jalka" enterprise Bashuev was also convicted for committing a similar crime.

"Bashuev with all the necessary financial facilities available did not pay the salary for the period of January and February, April and May, 2009, to 22 workers of the enterprise. Bashuev was also sentenced to custody conditionally for a two-years term on probation for the same period. Besides, he was deprived of the right of holding managing offices for a two-years term", our interlocutor said to "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.

There is no information yet on the position of the convicted persons or whether they are going to appeal against the verdict.
